Thought I'd better post these pix RIGHT NOW or it will never happen. Since I never shared anything from camping at all! Maybe I will do that now too. Or maybe I should feed the hungry horde.
We've been learning at home for fifteen years.
Our children learning at home are 14 and 16.
Our two oldest children have graduated from their homeschool years and are now in college.

Lisa's Logbook - July 25
Outside: 81 and beautiful blue skies with fluffy white clouds
Sounds: Christian radio playing softly, fans humming
Home: This is Cleaning Week. Or so I keep threatening. We shall see if it materializes.
Projects: Soccer - making teams and ordering uniforms - ok, I know I keep saying this and one day I will actually DO it.
Pondering: why we don't do more things just as a family - all 6 of us. Also pondering ways to afford more travel in the next three years, before one of my children graduates from HIGH SCHOOL!
Teaching: buying a used IEW SICC-B (advanced writing curriculum for David and maybe Emily) next week after needing it for a year.
Gratitude: that we live only an hour from one of the Great Lakes. We should take advantage of it more often, as we did today.
Recipes: Threw a cut-up chicken in the slow cooker with some taco seasoning and had chicken tacos Friday. Gonna serve that again tonight for dinner.
Duds: brown tee (different from last week), jean capris, bare feet, wet hair (since just about half an hour ago I was wearing my swimsuit and SAND)
Reads: Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens (downloaded the audiobook free from Librivox) & just finished The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland (enjoyed it!)
Vids: Little Dorrit (the 1st seven episodes from Masterpiece Theater), Yes Man (re-viewed), and 2012 (do not bother - so dumb)
Hopes: A Miracle is coming. I can feel it. Bring it on, Lord!
Love: smooth stones (just picked up quite a few at Lake Huron)
Plans: Working 4 hours M-F, Soccer Conditioning (E), Soccer VBS (J,S), a few other possibilities
Pic: Lakeport State Park on Lake Huron - 3 of my kids are in the foreground swimming

Lisa's Logbook - July 18
Outside: 79 now and overcast and very humid. We have a severe thunderstorm watch until later this evening.
Sounds: Fans, cicadas, David on the xbox, James doing dishes, Bob reminiscing about the farm
Home: Bob bought me an electric griddle and a HUGE George Foreman grill at the thrift store.
Projects: Soccer - making teams and ordering uniforms - ok, I know I keep saying this and one day I will actually DO it.
Pondering: why anyone would allow their child to play a handheld video game through an entire church service
Teaching: oh, crud - gotta think about that now....
Gratitude: for a wonderful lady who stepped up to organize the homeschool group (and co-op) this year - thank you, Darlene!
Recipes: made milk shakes this weekend, think we will have orange creamsicle floats tonight
Duds: brown tee, khaki capris, barefeet, hair in ponytail
Reads: Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens (downloaded the audiobook free from Librivox) and SIZZLING SIXTEEN by Janet Evanovich
Vids: Grownups (in the theater - funny, but for... well... grownups, lol), Despicable Me (also theater), an episode of Big Bang Theory (not worth your time - don't bother)
Hopes: that I can get the soccer teams made this week and uniforms ordered. It's been hanging over my head long enough.
Love: having the easy set pool set up this year. The kids can play while I work - they're happy and I get my work done. (Also love having two teens old enough to watch their younger siblings play.)
Plans: Working 4 hours M-F, Beach Day, Soccer (S,J,E), Co-op Registration & Book Sale, Youth Group Car Wash (D,E), Book Club!
Pic: Sorry - no time for a pic!

Lisa's Logbook - July 11
Outside: 78 and looks like rain now, but it has been sunny all day (Update: before I finished the post, the rain started and I had to run out and get the laundry off the line.)
Sounds: The boys are playing a video game and talking.
Home: Laundry everywhere! And stuff to unpack from our 10 day camping trip!
Projects: Soccer - making teams and ordering uniforms
Pondering: the idea of going to the Highland Games in Livonia - any takers?
Teaching: an easy week for lessons
Gratitude: my cell phone dried out from its accidental bath and is working properly again!
Recipes: loved the crock pot recipes this past week at the campground - heated things up but also made lasagna, wet burritos, hot fudge brownies, and more!
Duds: black athletic shorts, magenta tank top, bare feet, no makeup
Reads: Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens (downloaded the audiobook free from Librivox) and Catching Katie by Robin Lee Hatcher
Vids: Toy Story 3
Hopes: that God makes the path smooth for my friends as they move this week to North Carolina
Love: our patio mat!
Plans: Working 4 hours M-F, Park Day, Soccer (S,J,E), Maybe an eye dr. appt (L), Library program?
Pic: Check back later and I'll have one for you!

Lisa's Logbook - July 5
Outside: Low 90's and humid. Icky.
Sounds: Birds chirping, fans blowing, David chatting with a friend
Home: Bob is there but I am not.
Projects: managing the campsite and balancing it with working my hours
Pondering: what I am going to do now that my CELL PHONE appears to be DEAD
Teaching: OK, changing back to SOS Math for David.
Gratitude: I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free....
Recipes: Making ALL my camping food in the slow cooker - Very easy.
Duds: jean shorts, magenta tank top, hair all stuck up into a ponytail, very dirty bare feet
Reads: Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens (downloaded the audiobook free from Librivox) and Enemy Women by Paulette Jiles
Vids: The Big Bang Theory
Hopes: that the weather cools off (but it promises to be hotter before it gets colder)
Love: Reynolds slow cooker liner bags - SO EASY
Plans: Working 4 hours M-F, Camping all week
